Instructions
Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 4×8 inch loaf pan.
Mix Bananas and Butter: In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth. Stir in the melted butter.
Combine Ingredients: Add the baking soda and salt to the banana mixture. Mix in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract. Finally, stir in the flour until just incorporated. If using, fold in walnuts or chocolate chips.
Bake: Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan and bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cool: Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
