Ingredients

Scale

    • 1 unbaked pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
    • 1 can (15 ounces) pure pumpkin puree
    • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
    • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
    • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
    • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 3 large eggs
    • 1 can (12 ounces) evaporated milk
    • Whipped cream for serving (optional)

Instructions

    1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
    2. Prepare the Crust: Place the unbaked pie crust in a 9-inch pie pan, pressing it gently into the bottom and sides. Trim any excess dough and crimp the edges as desired.
    3. Make the Filling: In a large mixing bowl, combine the pumpkin puree, sugar, spices, and salt. Mix well. Add the eggs and evaporated milk, and stir until smooth and well blended.
    4. Pour and Bake: Pour the pumpkin filling into the prepared crust. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Then, reduce the temperature to 350°F (175°C) and continue baking for an additional 35-40 minutes, or until the filling is set and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
    5. Cool and Serve: Allow the pie to cool at room temperature for at least 2 hours before serving. Top with whipped cream if desired.
